Belt

1. Endless loop of flexible material between two rotating shafts or pulleys. The belt ran the overhead fans.
2. A band to tie or buckle around the body (usually at the waist). My belt help hold my pants up.
3. An elongated region where a specific condition is found. A belt of high pressure is expected this afternoon.
4. A vigorous blow. His friend gave him a belt to his head.
5. A geographical region that is distinctive in a specific respect. This is America's rural poverty belt.
