1. The physical structure of a human or animal as one single organism. The human body is a wondrous thing.
2. A corpse. Three bodies lay in the ditch.
3. The torso, the main structure of a human or animal frame excluding the extremities (limbs, head, tail). In cold weather you need to cover your body.
4. The contents of a letter, message, or other document, as distinct from the signatures, salutations, headers and so on. The body of the letter stated the reason for our problem.
