Collar

1. The part of a garment that encircles the neck. Collars are part of a ladies proper dress.
2. An encircling structure or bandlike marking, as around the neck of an animal, suggestive of a collar. Most people put a dog collar on their pets.
3. Slang. An arrest, as of a criminal. The police collared the young robber.
