4. In isolated cases spell out a number above 10 in order to de-emphasize the number or make it seem indefinite.
  1. Mary could give her dad a thousand and one reasons why she wanted to go to college.
  2. I have a hundred things to do today. (indefinite is what we want to show)
  3. I have a 100 things to do today. (too exact, too precise)
