Mammal Stereotypes - Pandas - 25 - Page 2

Here we highlight some cartoon shows that help set the stereotype for the bird.

Andy Panda

Andy Panda is a funny animal cartoon character who starred in his own series of animated cartoon short subjects produced by Walter Lantz. These "cartoons" were released by Universal Pictures from 1939 to 1947 and United Artists from 1948 to 1949. The titular character is an anthropomorphic cartoon character, a cute panda. In two 1943 cartoons, Andy Panda's Victory Garden and Meatless Tuesday, Andy's foil was a nameless rooster. In late 1943, this rooster became Andy's comic book sidekick, Charlie Chicken: "hatched" in NF 79 and rapidly growing into the cartoon model.

Kung-Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 American computer-animated action comedy wuxia film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The story is set in the Valley of Peace, a fictional land in ancient China inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. Po, a panda, is a kung fu fanatic who idolizes the Furious Five -Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, and Crane - a quintet of kung fu masters trained by the red panda Shifu. Helping his goose father Mr. Ping in his noodle restaurant, Po has been unable to achieve his dream of becoming a kung fu master himself.
