Here we highlight some cartoon shows that help set the stereotype for the bird.

Lord Rataxes

Rataxes, or Lord Rataxes, is a fictional rhinoceros who is a character in the Babar universe. Although he is the monarch de jure of his kingdom, called Rhinoland, his more intelligent wife, Lady Rataxes, is the de facto ruler. He is often surrounded by his rhinoceros guards. These guards also keep watch for cars, to collect tolls on the roads that pass through the kingdom. The rhino army is under the command of Rataxes (and the elephant army under the command of King Babar). The two countries have also been known to work together against common threats, such as when the area is infiltrated by poachers, and the two will help each other during times of need or crisis.

Rocky the Rhino

Disney's The Jungle Book is ready to boogie onto DVD, and the studio has released some concept, design and photo art from the Platinum Edition, available from October 2. The images include storyboard art of the character Rocky-the-Rhino, who is featured in his own DVD bonus feature. Walt described Rocky as a loveable rhinoceros who is half blind and extremely dumb. Rocky's personality was brought to life through the casting of veteran actor Frank Fontaine, who was selected to voice this bumbling character. The long lost character created for the original film and discovered recently for the first time - Rocky, a near-sighted and short tempered, but hilarious rhinoceros.
