China, because of its few private cars and the lack of parking places utilizes tens of thousands of cabs in most cities. This small cab will be cheaper than the medium size or standard size cab. In 2004 the minimum fare amounted to 6 Yuan for the small ones to 8-9 for the larger ones. Most rides we took cost the minimum fare. Many different cabs companies keep the competition prices low.
