Sichuan Farmland

Shown in this picture are fields of rapeseed and rice paddies. The rapeseed fields are identified by its distinctive bright yellow color. Rapeseed is pressed for its oil. In the west it is known as Canola oil. The green fields are rice paddies. Sichuan's climate allows three rice crops a year. Also Sichuan has extensive irrigation system so water is readily available the year round. This marvelous irrigation system was constructed over 2,000 years ago.
