17. Sowing Rice in Seed Beds

Baskets of seed await as workers prepare a muddy field for sowing. Roughly 25 days after sowing, when the rice shoots are about 7 inches high, workers will dig them out of the crowded seedbed for transplanting into a rice paddy.
