That is Mao Zedong is from the Mao family and his name is Zedong. So "Paul and Bernice Noll" makes them assume that our family name is Paul and his given name is Noll. That makes it out to be Paul Noll. If you look at Bernice's "Invide," she is Paul Bernice. Paul being the family name and Bernice as her first name. The red I added just for your attention.
