Students Get to Speak in English

After the time in the school auditorium, we adjourned to the lawn outside to let the students practice their English with us. Their teachers had prepared them well and each had a notebook with questions to ask us. It was their chance to talk to a foreigner and see if they could understand their speech. They wanted to know how long I had lived in China, where I had visited and what I thought about China, its people, food and cities. They expressed curiosity about American students and how they lived. I always enjoy talking to the young people and their excitement and interest in their studies. The students were quite excited about talking with us.
