Pipes to Move the Salt Brine, Zigong, Sichuan

Shown here are the bamboo pipes and their scaffolding used to transport the salt brine to the boiling sheds. It is a wonder to think of the effort these men went to in order to increase their production. This was in an age where there were no plastic pipe and human labor was abundant and bamboo was readily available. It is a tribute to the ingenuity of the Chinese men who constructed it.
