It is hard to imagine this scene in the USA. Hard carved steps up a four thousand foot mountain. And they are worn smooth from millions of feet over centuries of wear. Notice also there are no hand rails. We always used canes for safety. If you slip you have a long ways to roll. Paul could just fall by himself. Paul has that cane and still uses it.
