17. New Construction on Top of Emei

When we climbed Emei in 1987 they were working on some new buildings for tourists. Coolies were carrying 100-pound sacks of gravel and cement for the new hotel and restaurant. They were also constructing a chair lift to the top. This is some of that new construction. We climbed to the top twice. I'm glad we went before the new lift.
