Cruising on the Yangzi River

1984 Trip on Yangzi - Chongqing to Shanghai

10. Yangzi River Cruising

We would walk around the boat during the day and enjoy the sights. We took lots of pictures but were not always sure of what we were seeing. Lunch and dinner were very good food and cheap. They always came to get us and put us into the dining room before they opened it up for the Chinese. At each table would be five or six people waiting for you to finish so they could get your seat. We never saw anyone get angry or upset. However, culturally, the Chinese do not wait in line anywhere for anything. I think that is why they got us into the dining room ahead of all the others. Most folks in 3rd, 4th and 5th class brought their own food and ate on deck.
