This bill in the era of the late 1990s features Chairman Mao Zedong who established the People's Republic of China. His lifetime spanned from 1893 to 1976. The blank spot on the opposite side of Mao has a picture of a rose and the number 10 that can only be seen by holding the bill up to the light. On the back side you can see a picture of the gorge on the Yangzi River. Ten Yuan amounts to about $1.20 US. A partial metal strip runs vertically through the number 10 on the front for anti-counterfeiting purposes. Check any bill you receive for these anti-counterfeiting features.

This bill measures 5 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches.
