| Anhui is the poorest province in east China. In 1991 and 1998 disastrous floods hit Anhui. It is a heavy producer of rapeseed, sesame seed, hemp, grain, peanuts, beef, beans, mulberry silkworm cocoons, and tea. It is the countries largest producer of freshwater fish. Farmland comprises nearly half of Anhui. | ||
