Nanjing is a famous ancient metropolis, capital of Jiangsu Province and an important riverside city in the lower reaches of Yangzi River. With its unique advantages in industry, science and technology and environment, and rapidly developed economy, Nanjing has been listed in the fifth place among the 50 powerful cities in terms of the comprehensive strength and one of the top 40 cities with favorable investment environment and is thus regarded as one of the areas with good prospect for development by men of international economic circles and overseas financial groups. Nanjing has attracted a lot of local and foreign businessmen and tourists to invest and visit.

Nanjing is situated on the vast plain of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It belongs to the northern subtropical monsoon climate zone where the four seasons are clearly demarcated, the annual mean temperature is 16 C, the annual even precipitation is 1,106 mm and the frost-free period is 237 days. At present, Nanjing has jurisdiction over 10 districts and 5 counties, covering an area of 6,516 square kilometers and having a population of about 5,200,000.
