Nanjing City, Jiangsu, China Sun Yat-Sen's Mausoleum, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Bernice and I visited here in 1984. It was very hot, about 110 degrees. Nanjing is one of the "Four Furnaces of China." There are 392 steps up to the top with no rail. If you slip or fall it is a long way to the bottom. The steps are 323 meters long. It was a very beautiful spot. The ceiling of the Mausoleum at the top has a Nationalist flag painted on it. Sun Yat-sen is considered as the father of modern China by both the Nationalists and Communists.
