Big Bell Pavilion

North-east of the Drum Tower, the Bell Tower (zhonglou) houses an enormous bell, cast in 1388 and originally situated in a pavilion on the western side of the Drum Tower. The present tower dates from 1889 and is a small two-story pavilion with a pointed roof and upturned eaves.
