This is an aerial view of the City of Xinzheng. The city covers an area of 314 square miles with a population of about 600,000. The area abounds in natural resources and has a good economic base. Its mineral resources are mainly coal, iron, bauxite (aluminum ore), refractory soil (clay for pottery and bricks), silica, and limestone. It has a proven reserve of coal of 1.13 billion tons and has rich resources of surface and ground water.
