Bernice is the center of attention as they prepare her for her big moment. Her fingernails are being painted. A black hairpiece has been placed in her hair so they can lift her hair higher. Of course, it is black, so they must cover it with her silver blond hair. At times there were as many as six working on her at one time. They did nothing to Paul. Perhaps they felt nothing could be done.
