12. Parent's Day

On parent's day at the Keming School, I am requested to make a speech welcoming all the parents and so they can see the foreigner who is teaching their kids all that strange words of English. A Chinese teacher is translating my words for the Chinese speaking audience. I try to teach all the students to talk in full sentences. I dearly love all of the kids. I try to meet as many parents as I can and tell them how well their kids are doing. The kids translate for their parents. Most parents of kids here are upper class in order to afford the school.
