10. Zhengzhou Freeway

We lived in Xinzheng, a city about 20 miles south of Zhengzhou. We traveled on this freeway many times. Chinese freeways are actually toll roads. The fare amounts to about $1 US to go the 20 miles. Chinese freeways have several problems. One is that the trucks, that heavily use it, have no restrictions on the load limits. This causes the roads to crack and deteriorate rapidly and often. We one time took a trip in a police black-and white at speeds of over 130 MPH.
