View of Jade 2 from Bottom of Hill

This is a view of Jade 2 from the bottom of the hill. The 16 by 32 squad tent is to the left and the two rice straw sheds to the right. We try not to show lights at night. The enemy has some planes but I thought the greater danger was from our own planes. They might think we were the enemy. One night a plane flew close and strafed our station. Nothing seemed to be hit but everybody ran for cover to holes we had dug. Later when they took roll call one person was missing. Me! I didn't wake up and was asleep in my bunk. They were anxious for me until they found me asleep and warm. I can't hear in my left ear and sleep with my right to the pillow so I sleep well in the loudest noises. We often bought fresh food from the town people.

Cpl. Price once bought some rabbits and the cook fried them. They were good. One escaped and had a litter so we had large litter of little rabbits running around. We fed them.
