ROK Troops training in Japan

There were some Republic of Korea (ROK) troops training near us. I never knew what they were training about but they worked them hard. The Japanese and Koreans were not friendly to each other. They had to separate both sides from the other. Japan occupied Korea for 40 years from 1905 to 1945. It was not a very friendly occupation and the Koreans still resent the harsh treatment. Koreans had to learn Japanese in the schools. Many Korean women were forced to serve the Japanese army as prostitutes.
