Kumi Village Elder

To me, this Papa San is the epitome of a Korean elder.  He is clad in a black top hat, white trousers, long white frock and holds a long bamboo stemmed small-bowled pipe. The elders are highly respected in Korea. The hat is made from hair. This is the traditional dress for the old men. Korea has been invaded by many countries in its history. China, Japan and others and they have always survived. They are traditionally hard workers.
