Seoul, South Korea -1952

This is the Changdokkung Palace in Seoul which is a compound of numerous structures. Joe LaPera and myself , along with another GI whose name I have forgotten, were killing time while waiting for re-assignment. The area was well guarded by Korean troops and you were not allowed to enter most buildings. I recall looking through the windows of some and seeing stacked crates. Who knows ? Maybe some of their national treasure was stored there. I have seen recent pictures of these buildings all painted with the colors one associates with the Orient, but i do not remember seeing them that way. It seems that all my memories are in black and white.
