Common Raven

Corvus corax - Common in the Far North and in the West, especially near heavy timber. It flaps less and soars more than crows and is a carrion feeder. Call is a low hoarse croak. Our house is surrounded by heavy timbers, mostly Douglas Firs, Maples, Madrones, and Red Oaks.
