Red-breasted Sapsucker range

Sphyrapicus Varius - Cousin of the Yellow Bellied Sapsucker, the Red Breasted Sapsucker occur on the Pacific slope. Sapsuckers tap distinctive rhythms, but do not drum. They drill parallel rows of small holes in live trees, then return to feed on sap and small insects.
