Turkey Vulture

Cathartyes aura - A common carrion eater, scavenging in fields and along roadsides. Soars in wide circles, holding its two-toned wings in a broad V and tilting quickly from side to side. Immatures has a black head. Feeding vultures are soon joined by others flying in from beyond human vision.
Two of these birds flew low over our yard and then landed in one of our tall firs. They mated several times and then flew off.
