Limnodromus griseus - Common, especially along coasts. Note the long bill, the tip of which is usually out of sight when the birds are feeding. The white rump patch extends farther up the back than other American shore birds. Legs are short, body chunky. Call, low mellow 3-note whistle, tu-tu-tu.
