						Western Grebe Aechmophorus occidentalis - Locally abundant, breeding in colonies in lake vegetation. Winters along the Pacific Coast and in some inland areas, often in large flocks. A large black and white grebe with a long strait neck. The bill is much longer, yellower, and more needle-like than in other grebes. Summer and winter plumage alike.  |
