Great Horned-Owl

Bubo Virginianus - This common large "eared" owl is twice the size of crows that often harass it. Color pattern is similar to the smaller slimmer Long-eared Owl's; Horned Owl's ear tufts are larger and father apart; its belly is finely barred horizontally, whereas the Long-eared is more boldly streaked lengthwise. Call is typically 4 to 7 low hoots.
