Townsend's Solitaire

Myadestes townsendi - Uncommon; in coniferous forest in summer, woods or brush in winter. Like an erect, short-billed mockingbird, but with a white-eye ring, notched tail, and darker gray breast. Unlike typical thrushes, it flycatches from conspicuous perch in the open and nests on the ground. At a distance it resembles a robin. Song is a loud long whistle. Call, a single piping note.
