Tundra Swan

Cygnus columbianus - Our most common swan, formally called Whistling Swan; breeds in the far north and winters in large flocks in shallow fresh or brackish water. When swimming, it is told from the Mute Swan by its silhouette. The neck is held straight, the bill level; secondaries are not raised. The adult's black bill often shows a bright yellow spot that the Trumpeter lacks.
