Limnodromus scolopaceus - This common western bird averages larger and longer billed than the Short-billed, prefers fresh water, and in summer plumage has rusty lower belly, barred (not spotted) flanks, and blacker bars on the white tail. Migrates later in fall and molts later into winter than Short-billed.
