Empidonax hammondii - Common in firs, spruces, and pines; nests up to 11,000 feet. Likes solid coniferous forest. Flicks wings and tail constantly. Often impossible to tell from Dusky Flycatcher by sight or songs. Song very low-pitched, often of three parts: seput, a burry pzrrt, and treeip. Call, a soft pic.
