Black-billed Magpie

Pica pica - Common in open country near heavy brush or occasional trees that support its large nest. Long streaming tail and white wing patches characterize magpies. No other North American land bird except Scissor-tailed and Fork-tailed Flycatchers have tails longer than the body. Call is an ascending whine or a rapid series of loud harsh cries.
