Band-tailed Pigeon Columba fasciata - Locally common in western oak and pine woods, especially in summer. The large size and the broad gray tip on the fanned tail distinguish this bird from all others. Note the yellow bill and white neck band. Frequents water holes and salt licks in large numbers.
