Step 3, Liquefy Onions and Carrots

While the peas start to be cooked, and Bernice stirs, Paul begins to liquefy the carrots and onions. He cuts them small enough to be put into the blender. The onions get cut into half and each half quartered. The carrots just cut into half so they can be put into the blender. He borrows some water from the top of the cooking peas to allow the blender enough liquid to do its work. As soon as the vegetables are liquefied he puts them into the pot. If you like your vegetables more chunky just chop or slice as you wish. We put them into the blender for two reasons. First it's fast and we like it that way. Make your own choice. The garlic he chops with a knife. Amounts of both onions and carrots are not critical.
