Canning Grape Jelly Recipe (Concord Type)

Grapes

5 Cups of prepared juice.    1 Box Sure-Jell.     7 Cups Sugar (3 pounds).

Measure sugar and set aside.
Mix Sure-Jell with juice in pan. (General Foods Product)
Bring quickly to a hard boil, stirring occasionally.
At once add sugar.
Bring to a full rolling boil (a boil that cannot be stirred down).
Boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Skim off foam with metal spoon.
Pour into jars.
Wipe rim with clean damp cloth.
Place lid on and screw band on tight but no too tight.
Water bath or steam canner for 10 minutes
Remove and invert jar and set on newspaper.
When sealed stand upright to cool.
Recipe should yield 8 cups Jelly.
You can double recipe but you need two people to keep the timing prompt.
