Step 3, Peeling the Pears

Using a potato peeler Paul peels the pears, starting at the small end and then the fat end. After I finish the peeling I place them in a bowl of water for Bernice to cut and core them. The water has some salt in it to help prevent discoloring. I try not to get too ahead of Bernice to minimize their wait in the water.
