As a kid this was the toughest part of making cookies. Little 6-7 year old hands made the job harder then. But Mom taught me the value of work and sticking to to any task. I remember an old proverb: "In the battle between the rock and the river, the stream always wins. Not through strength but through endurance." Be sure to dig up the mixture from the sides and bottom.
