Bernice was such a sweet, pretty girl. She had some bummer lambs that she had to feed before she went to school. She like to play hide-and seek with the lambs. Her favorite dolls were her sisters, Gwen and Barbara. She thought Barbara was too small to play grown-up stuff. We liked to swim in the irrigation ditch that ran across the farm. In those days the farm was a long way from town.
