By this time Mom's parents had moved the family to the Los Angeles area. Her Dad was Henry Scott Crawford. He was born on Georgia. Her mother was Mamie Lou Abernathy who was born in Texas. She was actually born in a covered wagon on the way from Georgia to Texas. When they arrived in Winters, Texas, as was the custom, they registered her birth in Winters, Runnels County, Texas. The family lived in town for a while and then out to a farm outside the city.
