Our First New Home in Hayward

After we left Berkeley in 1955 we moved to Hayward, California. We bought this house new for $14,000 on a GI loan. Interest on the house was 3.25%. It had no lawn of fences and we have lots of work to do to fix it up for the children that are sure to follow. We dig a well and Bernice sews drapes for the house. We have a little furniture. The new couple is standing in front of their new house. A pile of gravel sits on the garage entry.
