Flowers Growing at our Home Small Flowered Fiddleneck Amsinckia menziesii Taprooted, bristly-hairy annual; stems leafy, simple to branched, 15-80 cm tall. Leaves alternate, linear to oblong, or lance shaped, 1-12 cm long. Flowers: Yellow, small (1-3 mm wide); sepals 5, stiff-hairy; petals fused basally into tube 4-7 mm long that spreads into 5 lobes; several to many in coiled spikes. Found in dry to moist fields, clearings and disturbed areas; low to middle elevations; common in Washington and Oregon, also in northern southeast Alaska.
