Flowers Growing at Our Home Pimpernel Anagallis arvenis This native of Eurasia is a low spreading herb with egg-shaped, opposite leaves. The flowers grow in the leaf axils on long, thread-like curved pedicels. The salmon to orange petals are fused to form a tube with five spreading lobes. The flowers are a bout 1/3 inch across. The weed occurs in lawns and waste areas, mostly west of the Cascades. Ours can be found in our woodlands and the the gravel driveway. On to Next flowerHi-Res Pic (253K) Hi-Res Pic Flower (147K) |
