Queen Anne's Lace

Flowers Growing at Our Home

Queen Anne's Lace (Wild Carrot)

Daucus carota A few large, flat-topped umbels with tiny white flowers, top hairy, sometimes nearly smooth, lacy-leafed stem. Found in most of North America. Ancestor of the cultivated carrot. The flowering heads served as "living lace," hence the name. Grows 1 to 4 feet high, flowers to 6 inches. Many grow all around our place. My son Landon took this delightful image.
